[REVIEW] TONY MOLY OLIVE SEED FOAM CLEANSER

HEY BEAUTIFUL! Here’s another product review on Tony Moly’s Olive Seed foam cleanser and this is a PERSONAL FAVORITE. I’ve never used any other facial wash since I tried this one and I’ve been using this for 1 year and counting ^__^ I am so inlove with this product, I wouldn’t trade any other product for this ㅋㅋㅋ. Before I got this product I asked the saleslady which facial wash would best suit me and I told her about my skin condition and she handed me this product so this is how I got this product :)

So far, I’ve consumed 4 bottles of this already. Actually, the first one I used was the Tony Moly Olive Seed CREAM CLEANSER. The cream cleanser works like cetaphil and the like. It is super gentle and it doesn’t create a rich lather or foam (which I didn’t like coz after using it, I don’t feel clean, I wear bb creams, that’s why I need a facial foam to completely remove remnants of the BB cream, you know what I mean? hihihi). Although the cream cleanser one works gently and is recommended for very sensitive skin (like mine) , I switched to the foam cleanser because I wanted to try it and then viola! I loved it!

I love the effect on this facial wash on my skin because unlike other facial washes that makes your skin dry after using it, this one leaves a moisturizing thin film on the facial skin (like dove soaps do) So, it is super recommended for dry and sensitive skin. And I super love it because it creates a THICK LATHER with just a tiny pea of it.

Btw, I bought this here in the Philippines coz when I was in Korea, I searched for this in tony moly stores/counters but they don’t sell it anymore so I was really sad about that and hoped that we still have it in the Phil and we still have it in Tony Moly counters here…and I am soooo happy! ~

COST: 178 php around 4,800₩

TEXTURE: thick gel. color: white with a tiny dash of gray (grayish white?)

SCENT: (quite strong) fresh dewy scent

DESCRIPTION: The brilliant cleansing care system bring strong vital power of fresh 3 seeds (which was not mentioned in its packaging) with dewy water.

HOW TO USE: When washing your face, work into a lather, and gently massage onto the face. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

So here goes my verdict:

PROS:
- very moisturizing (I love the moisturizing feeling that it leaves even after patting my face with a towel/paper towel.
- creates a thick lather
- 1 bottle of is good for 3-4 months (I use it twice daily :)
- didn’t give me breakouts

CON:
- once your face gets used to this and when you switch to other facial wash ( like even the gentle ones like cetaphil, celeteque or neutrogena) skin gets dry. There was a time when I ran out of this and tried to use celeteque for 3 days, my eyelids started to flake off :( (I DON’T REALLY KNOW IF THAT’S A CON OR A PRO ㅋㅋㅋ)

[REVIEW] MISSHA ALL-AROUND SAFE BLOCK PRESSED SUN CREAM SPF 50+/ PA +++

The product (compact type, sorry I lost the packaging ;p)
bottom/ back part with description

The compact when opened. It comes with a powder applicator/puff

[Product Review] Missha All-Around Safe Block Pressed Sun Cream SPF 50+/ PA+++

Howdi guys? here's another product review on Missha's Safe Block Pressed Sun Cream :)

I learned about this product when my aunt, who also visited Korea last fall, asked me to buy her another one because her compact is almost consumed and she told me how much she liked the product so I bought her one and decided to also purchase one for myself because I want to try it out hihihihi. So I've been using this product for almost two weeks now (but not on a daily basis, because I'm still hooked with my ELF face powder). I just use this when I feel like I'll be exposed to the sun more because this product has higher SPF compared to the oner one I'm using.

COST: 19,800₩ (around 734 php.) but I got it for 17,820 ₩ (around 660 php.) because they give a 10% discount for foreigners ;) You just have to present your passport (that's another tip when you shop for makeups around Myeongdong area). For 660, it's still quite expensive though and I just realized it today hahaha moving on...

VOLUME: 12g.

DESCRIPTION:
1) The pact containins UV blocking ingredients and nutritious ingredients like MISSHA sun cream, it enables you to protect the skin from UV rays more conveniently.

2) The pact protectsthe skin from outer harmful environment (e.g. against UV rays). The pact als contains Antozone Rose extracted from Dahurian Rose, it protects the skin from outer harmful environment like fine dust and ozone.

3) It also contains patent ingredient, Hollyhock extract(Patent no. 10-0887294), aloe extract and cucumber extract, they revitalize and protect fatigued skin against UV rays.

HOW TO APPLY:
After applying foundation or BB cream, pat lightly over the face with encased puff/ (kabuki brush)

TEXTURE: Fine and soft to touch, it is lightweight and is best used with a powder brush (I don't use the puff inside because I feel that the powder brush (kabuki brush I'm currently using) picks up more powder than the puff and using the brush will allow consistency and an even finish on the (facial skin).

SCENT: It doesn't smell good, but it doesn't smell bad either. It has a faint sun block smell (maybe because of its SPF content)

PROS:
- It is super lightweight
-easy to blend
- it has a sheer finish
- it has high SPF
- I like the compact :> it's like a clam :)))

CONS:
- The free puff doesn't pick much color so you better use a kabuki brush instead
- The smell :)
- Not that long lasting. You have to reapply every after 4 hours based on my experience hehe

I'll try to post SWATCHES soon.
Bye Bye for now!!! :) <3

P.S If you live in South Korea and you think you like this product, go to MISSHA stores now because they are having a 1+1 (buy 1 take 1) promo on this product!! visit their site for more info. www.missha.net :)

[PRODUCT REVIEW] SKINFOOD MANDARIN & PARSLEY CREAM

Product

Product sticker description

Product when opened

REVEIEW: Skinfood Parsley and Mandarin Cream (For Troubled Skin)

Hey guys! here's another product review and this one has been my favorite since then (4 years ago?). I've consumed 3 tubs of this already and it has never failed in helping me with my troubled skin (I had  ACNE years ago and it was the worst!!!)

That time, my face was full of zits (forehead, cheeks, and chin). I searched for some products in the net and I came across with this product and the positive product review somehow convinced me to try it out. So I ordered it online through a friend (since Skinfood here it the Philippines is super expensive!!! 2-3x the orig. price) and after trying it out for a month, I saw and felt the difference on my skin. My skin was soothed and zits were less visible. After that, I ordered for more and more until my acne disappeared :)

Now, I'm going to do a product review about it since the Face Shop ARSAINTE ECO-therapy essential cream didn't work out for me. It gave me zits (lots of em!) Now, my skin is in deep trouble :(. Good thing, I bought one in Korea since it was an all time fave product of mine. I didn't plan to use this now but since my skin is troubled, I hope this product will rescue it hihihi. SO LET's START! :D

COST: 8700 ₩ (around 323 php.)

VOLUME: 50 grams

DESCRIPTION: A lightweight yet hydrating cream that provides soothing relief from skin irritations. Contains parsley and mandarin extracts.

HOW TO USE: Apply an adequate amount to your face after using emulsion.

SCENT: light and citrusy (have I mentioned I love the smell?! I really loooooooove the smell!!! <3 )

TEXTURE: Gel type (color: off white)

PROS:
- the smell
-hydrating
-it soothes troubled skin
- non-irritating(no stings, etc.)
- can help in fighting acne
- affordable price

CON:
- it is quite greasy after application
- Skin becomes a little oily in the morning. I guess this only works for people with dry skin. :)

[REVIEW] NATURE REPUBLIC UV LOCK FLOWER WATER GEL SUN SPF 30 PA++

Product with packaging

Product Review: Nature Republic UV Lock Flower Water Gel Sun SPF 30 PA++

Hey guys! Here's another product review on Nature Republic and this product is a suncreen (obviously :D) I just came from the beach, we went island hopping in Samal Island and we had a blast! So I was inspired to do this product review (which is a sunscreen)  because I was heavily exposed to the sun THROUGHOUT THE DAY.

I live in a tropical country where it's really really sunny. Sunscreens should always be a part of our daily skin care routine. According to studies, sunscreens should still be applied even if you live in the West or in a non-tropical country. Because even if it's cold outside, or even if you are in an airconditioned room, the sun's UV rays will pass through the walls of the room. Iv'e known this even before but honestly, I'm not really a fan of sunscreens. I haven't used one in years and it's not included in my daily skin care routine because I rely on the UV protection content of my BB creams which is VERY INSUFFECIENT according to sources. So, it's still best to use sunscreens daily to protect you from the rays of the sun which is very damaging to our skin (wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and etc.) Since skin care products are very cheap in Korea, I decided to grab one and I am now using it daily :)

 So, let's start! :)

- This UV Lock Flower Water Gel Sun is a suncreen that is said to be waterproof.
- helps in whitening
- wrinkle-improvement
- Excellent UV protection
-3 Molecular effect
-SPF 30 PA++
-Moisturizing
-7 Non added formula
- Eco friendly
- has Braille for the blind

MY SKIN BACKGROUND: SUPER DRY and SENSITIVE

BRAND: NATURE REPUBLIC

COST: (I really lost track of the price, I kep all receipt purchases but I can't understand HANGUL! and I can't find the price in ₩ in the web) But, I think this costs 12000₩ but it was on sale (50% off) So I got ot for 6000₩ (Not really sure, but I'm certain that this is very very cheap coz it was on sale hihihi)

HOW TO USE: Evenly apply an appropriate amount to skin that can be easily eposed to the sun (face, neck, arms, etc.)

VOLUME: 80 mL / 2.70 fl. oz.

TEXTURE: Gel-type (white)

SCENT: it has a little "sunscreen" scent in it but it's not that strong. It smells okay, fresh and bearable.

PROS:
- It serves its PURPOSE!
- It is quite moisturizing to the skin
-  Lightweight (unlike other sunscreens which are very HEAVY to feel and very sticky
-The smell is not bad for a sunscreen
- iIt is cheaper than other sunscreens
- Non-grease formula

CON:
- I'm not really sure if it's WATERPROOF, but according to the saleslady, it is. But after a day of using it (swimming, island hopping, etc., I don't think that it is waterproof or some sort, I have doubts :p

[PRODUCT REVIEW] The Face Shop ARSAINTE ECO-THERAPY Essential Cream

Packaging + Actual Product

Packaging

Essential Cream

Here’s another product REVIEW from The Face Shop with its new line ARSAINTE ECO-THERAPY.

The ARSAINTE line comes with 3 products, (Toner, Emulsion, and Cream). I bought the essential cream because I prefer to use creams than emulsions (but I heard that emulsions are better at hydrating and moisturizing the skin, but I really don’t know coz I have not personally used one). I prefer to use creams because I find creams more gentle and not that watery, I guess :p

I bought this product even if I was not really sure if it works on my skin. I wasn’t familiar with it too since it’s a new product. I just randomly asked the saleslady if they have a moisturizing cream that soothes and treats EXTREMELY DRY skin (I forgot to mention, SUPER SENSITIVE). They recommended this product so I took it and forwarded it to the cashier.

-According to its packaging, this product is 85.1% NATURAL in origin.

-It has an ECOCERT- (meaning) the 100% bamboo extract used was certified in lieu of water.

-It has OPUNTIA COCCINELLIFERA(wheeew! that was hard!) fruit extract which facilitates skin hydration.

- Formula without 7 additives

- Dermatology tested

- No animal tested

- Respects the environment

- Packaging printed with SOY INK :)

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
This essential cream comes with a high concentration of moisturizing properties which can be easily spread on the skin to maintain a balance of moisture as well as to improve skin moisturization with this high-moisturizing cream.

COST: 14,900 ₩ (about 552 php) Sadly, it wasn’t on sale since it’s a new line and they are still currently promoting it on print and TV ads.

TEXTURE: creamy and watery

SCENT: faint fresh smell which is a so-so for me. I DON’T HATE it, but I don’t find it pleasing to smell at the same time. :/

VOLUME: 50 mL

DIRECTIONS:
After using daily moisturizer, dispense an adequate amount and apply in an outward direction to let the skin absorb it fully.

PROS:
It did moisturize my skin
It is natural in origin (as what the packaging says)
Very hydrating

CONS:
The smell
It gave me breakouts ( but I’m not really sure if it’s because of this or my sleeping VERY late at night hihihihi)
The content doesn’t look like it’s 50 mL, it looks more like 20 mL

[REVIEW] Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB SPF 20 PA++

Actual Product in no.2

[Review] Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream

When I went to Korea (Myeodong specifically) I happened to pass by Holika Holika store and I knew I had to get inside the store and see what they have to offer. This BB cream is actually popular, I saw good reviews of this in youtube, blog sites and beauty apps that I happen to download in my iPad. A lot of girls were crazy about this product which is why I decided to try this out using the store's tester and amazingly, It impressed me.

At that time (LUCKILY) HH was on sale, all products were 30% off the price tag. So without much thinking, I immediately grabbed one and stashed it to the basket they handed me upon entering the store. I haven't seen HH stores in Incheon (where we stayed). Unlike Faceshop, Skinfood, Etude house, and Nature Republic (they are everywhere! subways, malls, and even just in sidewalks) I find HH stores hard to find.

SKIN BACKGROUND: Super DRY and SENSITIVE

COST: orig. price was 13500 ₩ (500 php.) but since it was 30% off, I bought it for 9450₩ (350 php.)

DESCRIPTION:
a UV Protection Sun Care Cosmetic
Fully water-charged Aqua Petite Jelly
Jelly BB makes skin moist and bouncy. It has a jelly like texture that is easy to spread evenly and creates fully hydrated and shiny skin. It is also perfect for covering blemishes. It has Mint water which hydrates facial skin and marine jelly complex which makes skin soft and bouncy.

HOW TO USE:
Take an appropriate amount with spatula and evenly spread onto facial skin by patting gently with a puff.

SCENT: faint fresh scent

Pros:
*Makes skin fully hydrated
*Spreads out easily
*Easy to blend
*Aqua based
*Medium coverage
*Light weight
*Last long
*It didn't dry out my skin

Cons: (this is hard)
Honestly, I can't really say anything bad about this product since it didn't cause me breakouts or anything. Instead, I received a lot of compliments about how glowing my skin is and etc.
But, if anything bad comes up, I'll just update this part right here, I guess hihihi ;)

P.S: I'll post a swatch soon!!!

[REVIEW] Innisfree Apple Juicy lip and eye (makeup) remover

I’ll start off with this Apple Juicy lip and eye make-up remover by INNISFREE (purify apple cleanse) #iwonderewhykoreanskincareproductshavereallylongnames# anyway, it says in its packaging that it quickly removes eye make-up and it cares for DELICATE skin and it has an apple delight scent which I REALLY LOVE!!! You just have to smell it! It smells like a whole bucket of green apples ^_*

I honestly didn’t plan to purchase a lip and eye make-upremover since I was contented with just using petroleum jelly (yes, it works!!!!) to remove my gel eye liner (i usually don’t wear mascaras or eye make-up). But hey! I’m in Korea (the make-up wonderland) so why not purchase one where it’s more cheaper and more ?organic?.

Since I have SUPER DRY and SENSITIVE skin, I have to be really picky with this one because I’ve tried using local lip and eye removers but it didn’t work for me. Instead they make my eyelids SUPER DRY and scaly. But I didn’t want to regret in the end, so after much thinking, I purchased this. I was supposed to get the Missha lip and eye remover but since my Korean friend uses this and I’ve tried using it and I fell in love with the smell, I decided to buy this insted ;) and I think this is cheaper than the Missha one, I can’t really remember :p

SKIN BACKGROUND: I have VERY SENSITIVE AND DRY SKIN

COST: 3500 ₩ which is roughly about 130 php.

TEXTURE: Mixture of water and oil. You have to shake it before you use it because the oily part usually sits on top of the water if you don’t shake it. SO YOU HAVE TO SHAKE IT BEFORE USING IT to get the right amount of water and oil hihihi.

DIRECTIONS: shake well to activate the formula and pour adequate amount onto cotton pad and then place over lip or eye area for 5 seconds to dissolve and remove make-up.

Pros:
So far, after using it for 2 weeks, it didn’t dry my eyelids which means that it is really GENTLE and it effectively removes my mascara (and yes, I started wearing mascaras again because I have the perfect eye remover for it hahaha) #refer to the 3rd picture above#

And before I forget, it also works as a lipstick remover buuuut, I haven’t tried it for my lips coz, I find it weird. I guess? hahaha

Cons:
Some people usually prefer make-up removers which are oil-free. So if you are that kind of person, this make-up remover is not for you :) But since, I have very dry skin, its oil content actually moisturizes my eyelids so it doesn’t leave my eyelids dry and flaky :))

So before this make-up review gets too long (and boring? NOOOOOO!) , I have to end it here.

P.S I strongly recommend this product to those who have very dry and sensitive skin. Trust me, IT’S WORTH it :)
