[REVIEW] THE FACE SHOP CHIA SEED EYE AND SPOT ESSENCE

Hey Beauties!!!

Here's another product review on a product that I am using for quite a while now (3 months?). And generally, I am somehow impressed with this product. The skincare product is from The Face Shop and this was purchased in Korea by my Korean friend.

I am a person who researches and read product reviews first before purchasing the product but since my friend, at that time, needed to get my orders as fast as possible (because of some matters), I had no choice but to go directly to their (The Face Shop) website and look for the product that I need. 3 months ago, I attended a 3-day Makeup seminar by Archi Tolentino Maybelline's Chief MUA In the Philippines) and in that workshop, I learned the importance of eye creams and eye essences and Archi told me that I needed to use one if I don't want my eyes to get droopy for the next years to come (I have the potential to be one because my eyes are a little hooded, he said).

So, because of that, I was enlightened and I added the eye cream to my "to-buy list". So I came across with this product in TFS website. Without reading reviews about it, I bravely asked my friend to buy one for me. At first, I didn't know how PRICEY it was. TFS was having 30% sale in Korea at that time so I was expecting that it would cost around 10,000 -12,000₩. But to my surprise, It costs more than that. But... anyway, I have to start reviewing before this review gets too long ^___^

BTW, I also purchased this product because it claims that it can also heal blemishes and liver spots. So, it's like purchasing a 3-in-1 product ;)

BRAND: The Face Shop

PRODUCT NAME: CHIA SEED WATERY EYE AND SPOT ESSENCE

PRICE: original price is at 18,900 ₩ but I got this for the sale price of 13,230 ₩ (around 490 Php.)

VOLUME: 30 ML

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

(Let's do a lil history first ;)

What is CHIA SEED?
- Is a magical moisture seed from South America
- Absorbs moisture 10x its own weight and forms a natural film of jelly moisture
- A natural seed filled with not only moisture but also nearly all nutrients requires by the skin.

CHIA SEED, absorbs moisture 10x its own weight. This product also contains PEARL extract (which explains its pearly feature) which raises the level of moisture and provides care to troubled areas for flawless clarity. The Chia seeds water is extracted within 24 hours via "Fresh method", instead of water delivering the vitality of the highly pure chia seeds. (-According to its packaging)

- Contains 100% chia seeds extract instead of water.
- An eye & spot essence in a new concept to remove dark circles and fully hydrate the skin.
- Its formula doesn't contain 7 synthetic additives, safely tested, contains organic CHIA SEEDS, and it is environment friendly.
- An intensive essence exclusively for the eyes and spots.
- Flawless care with moisture level-up around the eyes

ORDER OF USAGE: Chia Seed is actually a line from TFS, like Mango Seed, etc. So, if you bought the entire line of Chia Seed, the order of usage should be:
1. Chia seed Boosting Essence
2. Chia seed Toner
3. Chia seed Lotion
4. Chia seed EYE & SPOT ESSENCE
5. Chia seed Cream

DIRECTIONS: Every morning and evening, after prepping face with your skin care routine, squeeze a pea size onto ring finger (YES! the ring finger is the weakest and you have to tap it lightly around your eyes, be sure to apply it as GENTLY as you could since the eye area is the most sensitive part and where skin is the thinest.)

* Reapply 2-3 tines to spots where dullness is a concern and tap lightly for greater effects.

SCENT: For me, the scent smells like a mixture of mango and rose petal. I haven't tried smelling chia seeds myself, so I couldn't compare at all!! :)) And, the scent isn't overwhelming but, if it were unscented, I'd love it even more!!! ㅋㅋㅋ

TEXTURE: Gel-like and a bit watery :)

COLOR: Pearly white.

                                                            close-up

VERDICT

PROS:
- My eyelid area usually gets dry especially after wearing heavy eye make-up, but with this added on my skin care routine, I haven't had any experiences of having dry lids so far. SO, I AM LOVIN IT FOR THAT! <3
- It's very light unlike other eye creams :)
- The volume, 30 mL goes a long way!! I have mine for 3 months now and I've only consumed half of it. I apply it also to blemish spots, by the way!

CONS:
- I don't really have dark under eye circles, so I cannot attest to its claim of erasing dark under eye circles O.O ㅋㅋ
- The price! It's really expensive even if I got it on sale. :(
- For the blemishes and spots, it didn't really heal in an instant but, it somehow decreased the redness and inflamation of my zits :)

OVERALL RATING: 4/5

REPURCHASE?
For the price, no. But if they will sell this at a lower price, I would! Definitely!

That's all folks!

Hope this helped!

Feel free to comment below and share me your expereince about this product!!

WITH SO MUCH LOVE!!! <3

[REVIEW] THE FACE SHOP MANGO SEED TONER

Hey beauties! I'm set for another skin care review buuuuut, I decided to take a break from the (sample size) make-up/skincare review because I want to do a review on this product which I am using for 2 months now. The product is a toner from The Face Shop and it's called Mango Seed toner.

While i was in Korea, I went crazy for a while because of the abundance of make-up and because of that, I forgot to buy a toner for myself. So I went back to the Philippines and noticed I wasn't able to buy a toner. Luckily, my chingu (friend) was still in Korea. So, I went online and searched for a good toner to match my superduper dry skin. I went to the website of Skinfood, Missha, Nature Republic, Holika Holika but The Face Shop caught my attention because they were on sale at that time. So I hurriedly asked my friend if she can buy me this toner and so she did. She sent it to me via parcel along with other goodies and I got the parcel within 4 days. It was fast!!! and It wasn't that expensive too, plus I got more samples hihihi.

So, as I've said, I've been using this toner for almost 2 months now and decided to make a review about it before I ran out of it :D Currently, I took a break in using this toner since my face is a disaster right now, It has'nt been this bad since... 3 years ago? I have breakeouts on the forehead, chin, nose and eyebrow area. I dunno why and I can't blame the toner because my skin was good even after I used it for a month (I'm using my old toner for acne right now ;) I don't know why this happened, I am suspecting that unhealthy eating habbits and bad sleeping patterns are the culprit :))  Which is why I'm trying hard to sleep early now :P

So let's start reviewing!!!!

BRAND: THE FACE SHOP

PRODUCT: MANGO SEED TONER

PRICE:  16,900 ₩ (625 Php.) but I got this at 11,830₩ (438 Php.) because it was on saaaaale! So for a toner this BIG, it's kinda cheap but I don't know how much this is priced here in the Philippines.

DESCRIPTION:

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:

DIRECTIONS: Shake the bottle before use to mix the two layers (Yes, it comes in two layers). Apply to face by using your hands or a cotton pad. Pat lightly for full absorption XD

TEXTURE: It's watery but not THAT watery, it's a little creamy which differs it from the regular toners.

SCENT: Mild fruity scent but nowhere near that of mangoes

PROS:
- It doesn't sting especially around the eye area where the skin is the thinnest
- I like the mildness of the scent (but I'd still prefer unscented products)
- It is very moisturizing, I recommend it for people with very dry skin :)
- The bootle is PORCELAIN!!! and its heavy too (dunno if this is a good thing or a bad thing tho)

CONS:
- At first, the pump bottle was okay but lately, I don't know why but the pump clogs up some amount of the product and it is very messy and sometimes, the pump doesn't dispense or if it does, it dispenses air bubbles.
- I don't really know if this is the culprit for my zits, but if it also gave you breakouts, please let me know so that I won't be using it again. :)

P.S. Its box can be transformed into a paper toy but I can't read hangul so, I don't know how to assemble it. Do you know? ㅋㅋㅋ

That's all for now!!!!

[REVIEW] THE FACE SHOP AURA COLOR CONTROL CREAM

Hey beauties!

I'm back! :)

As promised, I'm gonna do another (sample size) make-up review on a CC cream. Yes, you heard it right! a CC cream. While BB creams are currently a thing of the past, CC creams now took over its the make-up and skin care world. While I was in Korea this was the "in" make-up/skin care product as it promises better skin results. According to experts, CC creams are a better and a more refined version of the BB cream.

Universally, CC stands for Color Control but Different make-up lines/brands have other meaning to the abbreviation CC (Color Correction, etc.), but for Tha Face Shop, CC means Color Control.

BRAND: The Face Shop

PRODUCT: Aura Color Control Cream SPF 30 PA++

                                                  FRONT

PRICE: Got the sample size for free but at that time, the regular product costs around 24,000 ₩ (quite expesive actually

DESCRIPTION: Face It CC Cream is a color-controlling cream that brightens you complexion and keeps your morning make-up intact without any darkening. Also, this CC cream promises not to oxidize on skin even if it has SPF in it. Unlike BB creams, this CC cream doesn't turn ashy after hours and hours of sun exposure.

- Anti-aging
- Skin brightening
- Anti-oxidation
- Sun Protection
- Gives radiantly glowing skin

APPLCATION: The regular ones sold in the market has a nice packaging. It's in a compact with a sponge applicator. Currently in Korea there is this new wave of make-up application called CUSHION application. I saw some video reviews of this CC cream online and I think the actual product has the cushion application which is a big fad in Korea right now. I'm just not sure though... you can correct me if I'm wrong hihihi

COLOR: I read the packaging and there was no sign of any number indicating its color and I can't read hangul!!! ㅋㅋㅋ anyway, there is a picture down below and that is the actual color :)

TEXTURE: Creamy but a little watery :)

FINISH: When it's still wet, you get that shimmery/watery feeling but it dries up after sometime and you get that dewy to slightly matté finish

COVERAGE: Medium. Now, the problem with CC creams is usually the coverage. If you want a FULL coverage better use a BB instead because CC creams offer a more natural looking glow on the skin. It does slightly cover blemishes and red spots but you have to use a good concealer to conceal your ugly zits ㅋㅋㅋ

SCENT: Mild Fresh Floral Scent

Here goes my verdict!!!

PROS:
- The coverage, I know I just said that it doesn't conceal zits or give you that full coverage but I love it because it gives you that natural and fresh glow on your skin.
- It doesn't oxidize that much unlike BB creams or foundations with SPF
- non-drying on the face

CON:
- the actual price!!! :3
I guess that's just it :)

OVERALL RATING: 4/5

REPURCHASE: I'll think about it. Maybe, if I have a lot of mooooolah :)

[REVIEW] ETUDE HOUSE FRESH CHERRY TINT

Hey beauties!!!!

So today, after a superduper long hiatus, I've finally decided to create a review on the samples that I got from my makeup haul in Korea last April.

There will be series of blogs that I'm gonna post about the reviews of the samples that I got (I promise, pinky swear!)
First, I'm going to review the samples that I looooove and there are quite a few of em and there are also samples which I haven't tried yet. So yeah, guess you can wait right? kkk so without further a do, let me start reviewing! :)

PRODUCT: ETUDE HOUSE FRESH CHERRY TINT

Sample size (front)

back

COLOR: RD301 (Cherry Red) It's also available in 3 other colors namely; Cherry Pink , Cherry Peach , and Cherry Hot Pink.

PRICE: got this for free but the regular ones cost around 6$ online, i dunno in Korea but I'm sure it's 3x cheaper there kkkk

DESCRIPTION: Fresh Cherry Tint promotes moist and shiny cherry lips with creamy texture.

APPLICATION: The regular product comes with a wand applicator but mine's only the sample size so I just use my fingertips and a q-tip to wipe off any excess tint.

TIP1: just a PEA size is enough for your lips. It is very pigmented, very bright and the color really shows off (reminds me of occ lip tars).

TIP2: apply a lip balm right after to give a lil glow and to moisturize your lips but If you want a matté finish, skip this tip hihihihi

SCENT: I can't really smell anything...

TASTE: IT TASTES BITTER! I dunno why but it has the same taste with avon's lip and cheek tint, I guess tints are really bitter.

TIP3: So don't try licking it kkk (I usually lick my balms/tints/lipsticks because most of them tastes fruity/minty/chocolatey but this one is -sadly, not.

STAYING POWER: believe me when I say 12 freakin' hours!!! it's really long lasting.

PROS:
- highly pigmented
- long lasting
- a small amount will go a long long long way
- if you want to do the popular OMBRÉ lips, use this! it is super blendable and you will surely achieve the ombré you want :)

CONS:
- tints are really drying, so if you have severely dry and chapped lips like mine, better grab a lip balm and apply on top of it.
- the taste kkk :p

OVERALL RATING:
4.5/5

WILL I PURCHASE?
YES! YES! YES if I have the money kkk

                                                                  BACK

COVERAGE: light - medium. It depends on the amount you put but it's super buildable and it can slightly cover blemishes and red spots on the face.

PROS:
- I like that it has a light beige color in it. I was actually surprised when I opened the sample because it was my first time seing and using a sun cream with color because sun cream's here are white.
-the coverage is really good for a sun cream :)
- it's freakin SPF 45+++

[REVIEW] ETUDE HOUSE SURPRISE CONCEALER KIT NO. 2 DARK CIRCLE BRIGHTENING

Hey Beauties!!! I'm baaaaaack!

So I finally found the time to go back to blogging :) and I have  great news!!! I am now a certified make-up artist!

I joined a 3-day intensive make-up workshop with Archibald Tolentino (chief make-up artist of Maybelline Philippines) as our mentor and I've learned a lot!!! I realized that I've been buying the wrong products, wrong skin shade, wrong color shade and a whole lot more. So yeah, I basically learned the dos and don'ts of putting on/applying make-up and of purchasing make-up.

So while I was in the workshop, I brought all my make-up products and our mentor assesed the products that we have and this  product that I am going to make a review about caught his attention because he thinks it is a good cream concealer and it's the Etude House Surprise Concealer Kit in no. 2 (dark circle brightening)

Let's get it on!

Product

when opened (it comes  in two colors with a mirror in its pact)

back

Brand: Etude House

Product Name: Surprise Concealer Kit no.2 (Dark Circle Brightening)

Cost: If my memory serves me right, I think I purchased this for 6000 ₩ (around 222 php. or 6$)

Volume: 3 grams

Texture: cream in palette

Product Description: There's not much product description (in english) in its packaging so I researched around the net and found these:

-  Melting concealer that covers and brightens dark under eye circles
- Covers effectively with 2 colors.
- Covers with smooth and moisturizing fit.
- Fits smoothly, and keeps make-up for hours.

How to use:
1. Do base make-up with make-up base, foundation or BB cream.
2. Apply small amount of peach color on dark circle area under eye.
3. Apply small amount of beige color on peach color.

PROS:
- the texture is really creamy and the coverage is really good
- the price is adfordable for a two-color concealer
- the packaging is handy (it comes with a mirror)

CONS:
- the beige color doesn't match my skin tone.I need it to be more yellowish for it to cover my dark circles especially around my lips. But if you have a pale skin, like most Koreans have, this product may be suitable for you ;)
- It doesn't last long for me. I don't know, maybe because my skin is acidic or whatever.
- I hope it came with a tiny spatula to scoop out the product for it to be hygienic :)

OVERALL RATING: 3.5/5

Will I purchase it again? Yes if only it matches my skin tone, but since it doesn't, I don't think so :)

That's all for now

Thanks for reading!! <3
