[REVIEW] ETUDE HOUSE SURPRISE CONCEALER KIT NO. 2 DARK CIRCLE BRIGHTENING

Hey Beauties!!! I'm baaaaaack!

So I finally found the time to go back to blogging :) and I have  great news!!! I am now a certified make-up artist!

I joined a 3-day intensive make-up workshop with Archibald Tolentino (chief make-up artist of Maybelline Philippines) as our mentor and I've learned a lot!!! I realized that I've been buying the wrong products, wrong skin shade, wrong color shade and a whole lot more. So yeah, I basically learned the dos and don'ts of putting on/applying make-up and of purchasing make-up.

So while I was in the workshop, I brought all my make-up products and our mentor assesed the products that we have and this  product that I am going to make a review about caught his attention because he thinks it is a good cream concealer and it's the Etude House Surprise Concealer Kit in no. 2 (dark circle brightening)

Let's get it on!

Product

when opened (it comes  in two colors with a mirror in its pact)

back

Brand: Etude House

Product Name: Surprise Concealer Kit no.2 (Dark Circle Brightening)

Cost: If my memory serves me right, I think I purchased this for 6000 ₩ (around 222 php. or 6$)

Volume: 3 grams

Texture: cream in palette

Product Description: There's not much product description (in english) in its packaging so I researched around the net and found these:

-  Melting concealer that covers and brightens dark under eye circles
- Covers effectively with 2 colors.
- Covers with smooth and moisturizing fit.
- Fits smoothly, and keeps make-up for hours.

How to use:
1. Do base make-up with make-up base, foundation or BB cream.
2. Apply small amount of peach color on dark circle area under eye.
3. Apply small amount of beige color on peach color.

PROS:
- the texture is really creamy and the coverage is really good
- the price is adfordable for a two-color concealer
- the packaging is handy (it comes with a mirror)

CONS:
- the beige color doesn't match my skin tone.I need it to be more yellowish for it to cover my dark circles especially around my lips. But if you have a pale skin, like most Koreans have, this product may be suitable for you ;)
- It doesn't last long for me. I don't know, maybe because my skin is acidic or whatever.
- I hope it came with a tiny spatula to scoop out the product for it to be hygienic :)

OVERALL RATING: 3.5/5

Will I purchase it again? Yes if only it matches my skin tone, but since it doesn't, I don't think so :)

That's all for now

Thanks for reading!! <3

[REVIEW] HOLIKA HOLIKA HOLY BERRY JELLY TINIT NO.2

Hey beauties!!!

I finally got my butt back to reviewing hihihi. I'm sorry it took a while for me to go back to reviewing coz I got super busy lately. Today, I am going to review another Korean product which I am currently obsessed right now.I have been using this product for almost a month now and  I am super loving it. The product is Holika Holika's Holy Berry Jelly Tint in no. 2 Berry Berry  (the name reminds me of the actress Halle Berry ㅋㅋㅋ).

People close to me would know that I cannot live without a lip gloss (literally) like whenever I leave my lip gloss at home when I am in school, my day would usually turn bad and normally, I got to the nearest drugstore and purchase the cheapest lip gloss. You see, my lips are super dry and flaky that's why I've been using lip gloss sice 3rd grade, so I've been living with a lip gloss in my pouch or pocket.

Without much further a do, let's start reviewing!!! Here's the product

without flash

with flash

BRAND: HOLIKA HOLIKA

PRODUCT NAME: HOLY BERRY JELLY TINT

COLOR: I got mine in no. 2 Berry Berry which is a hot pink as you can see from the pictures. There are other 2 colors, no. 1 is a deep red and no.3 Peach Berry is a peachy orange

COST: The product is originally priced at 6000₩ which is around 222 php. But I got the discounted pack of three for 12,6000₩ so each costs for 4,200₩ only (155 php.)

VOLUME: 8mL

TEXTURE: thick jelly

DESCRIPTION: Holika Holika Holy Berry Jelly Tint is a gel type lip tint. It provides a glossy finish and stains all at once. Vitamin derivatives and vegetable ingredients soften, moisturizes and retins color. Collagen property increases synthesis of glycosaminoglycan, creating more plump and bouncy lips by increasing blood circulation. Tingles with a fresh cooling sensation from menthol ingredients. Create beautiful soft berry colored lips with this tint.

PROS:
- I love the cooling effect!!! it is not like other product that says it is cooling (but they actually don't). No, this product is different, it really has a cooling effect maybe because it contains menthol.
- The texture, it really is moisturizing
- For me, it is long-lasting. I've tried tons of lip jellies already but this, by far is one of the lip jellies that lasts long.
- I love the applicator! It glides perfectly on dried chapped lips. (I'll update this blog and post a picture of the applicator so you girls can see what I am talking about hihi)

CONS:
- The color, it is not that tinted and pigmented :(
- I hope that they make a product that is bigger than this coz I would definitely buy one if they have :)

Would I purchase it again? YES!!!!

RATING: 4.5/5

REVIEW: SKINFOOD BLACK SUGAR MASK WASH-OFF

Hey beauties!!! I'm here again to make a review on Skinfood's Black Sugar Mask Wash-off :)
While I was shopping for cosmetics in South Korea, I got this product as a free sample (Koreans really like to give samples and giveaways, and this is just one of the million sample products I got from them ㅋㅋㅋ). This is my first time to do a review on a sample so si back, enjoy, and read! hihihi

BRAND: Skinfood

COST: since this is a sample, they give it to customers with any purchase for FREE!!! :3 but for the regular product, I think it costs around like 10000-11000₩ around 10-11$  or 370 php.

VOLUME: I forgot but 1 sample pack is good for 2-3 uses depending on the amount that u out on your face :)

TEXTURE: It is thick and grainy (obviously because of the sugar) and it tastes sweet haha! but don't try to eat it!!! I accidentally tasted it hahhaha

SCENT: for me, it smells like lime/lemon, Some reviewers say it smells like cola, but I don't know, It's more of a lime for me :)

PROS:
- Heating effect on the skin (which is said to open pores)
- It exfoliates skin
- The sugar can act as a scrubbing agent
- After washing off the mask, it leaves your skin supple and bright
- the cost. It is not that expensive for a mask wash-off

CONS:
- honestly, it looks icky ㅋㅋ
- too much scrubbing can cause skin irritation (if skin is too sensitive)

REVIEW FACE IT EXTREME BOLD PEN EYELINER

Hey beauties! How's life doin so far?
I am so happy and thrilled coz finally, I've got a decent cam ;) (it's my bro's DSLR actually ㅋㅋ) see? the pictures are crystal clear and I am so proud of myself coz I took it hahaha

so... let's start!!! :)

BRAND: The Face Shop (Face It line)

COST: 12,900₩ (around 477 php.) In the malls, this product costs 795 (sooo expensive) I realized, 477 is quite EXPENSIVE for an eyeliner but when I bought this, I didn't think much of the price (and now I think I'm regretting HAHAHA)

VOLUME: 2.2g LENGTH: 4 inches

COLOR: Blackest Back

DESCRIPTION:
A bold pen eyeliner that creates an assertive eyeline that accentuates the defined shape of the eyes.
-with a simple bold pen eyeliner, even the first-timer can apply a smokey power line instantly (which I do not agree)
- blackest black color expressing the boldest of blackness, is added with smooth luster to highlight clearly defined lines
- the 24 hour all-day waterproof formula maintains lines perfectly clean from tears, perspiration or sebum

HOW TO USE:
1. Before use, face the brush downward and shake 2-3 times.
2. Draw a line naturally from the base of the eyelashes toward the outer corner.
3. In order to prevent clumping caused by foreign substances such as eyeshadow or powder, at the tip of the brush, wipe lightly with a tissue before use.

PROS:
- it is LONG LASTING! (even if I washed my hand twice already, the line is still there! It sure is waterproof!... You should need a good eye makeup remover to remove it:)
- the color is really black!
- it works like a pentel pen/marker with a sharp tip!!! haha
- semi-matte finish
-doesn't melt even in super hot climate

CONS:
- It is hard to maneuver, I mean... I had a hard time perfecting the line on my eyes until now! Maybe because I was used to using gel eyeliners with an eyeliner brush. I don't know, but this product is quite hard for me to use. It is so hard to even out the line :(
- the COST!! it is expensive for an eyeliner :((

WILL I PURCHASE IT AGAIN? Honestly, no :( I really don't know how to use it, it's hard :/

Rating: 3/5

[REVIEW] NATURE REPUBLIC COLLAGEN HD BLUSHER

Hey beauties! I'm back from a short hiatus ^__^ and here's another random makeup review on Nature Republic's Collagen HD Blusher in no.2 :)

A square chocolate brown compact

back view :)

when opened

To start off, I've been using this blusher ever since I bought this a month ago and I personally like the color because it suits my skin tone well. I don't really use blush on that much but I'm liking the effect that this blush is giving me so I'm using it daily.

I've been looking for a product review/video on this in the net but I haven't seen one so I might be the first one to do it kkk. Here goes...

NATURE REPUBLIC COLLAGEN HD BLUSHER in no.2

COST: it's originally priced at 12000₩  but NR was on sale that time (50% off on all products) so I got this for half of the price, 6000₩ (around 222 php)

COLOR: no.2 which I think is peachy. It has the same undertone with ELF's CANDID CORAL but it's brighter and more orangey :) it has tiny gold specs in it too ^_^

TEXTURE: Powder

PROs:
- it claims to have collagen in it which differentiates itself from other blushers
- the color suits my skintone (fair with yellow undertones, very asian ;)
- didn't cause me breakouts
- quantity
-smell is fresh and citrusy

CON:
- no that pigmented :(

here's a swatch!!

this was taken without a flash from a crappy camera phone :)) I hope it's clear though.
This is the clearest photo and the color really looks like this in reality ㅋㅋㅋ

I hope this review helps!!

[REVIEW] TONY MOLY OLIVE SEED FOAM CLEANSER

Product (front)

Product (back)

Foil (for freshness!:)

[REVIEW] TONY MOLY OLIVE SEED FOAM CLEANSER

HEY BEAUTIFUL! Here’s another product review on Tony Moly’s Olive Seed foam cleanser and this is a PERSONAL FAVORITE. I’ve never used any other facial wash since I tried this one and I’ve been using this for 1 year and counting ^__^ I am so inlove with this product, I wouldn’t trade any other product for this ㅋㅋㅋ. Before I got this product I asked the saleslady which facial wash would best suit me and I told her about my skin condition and she handed me this product so this is how I got this product :)

So far, I’ve consumed 4 bottles of this already. Actually, the first one I used was the Tony Moly Olive Seed CREAM CLEANSER. The cream cleanser works like cetaphil and the like. It is super gentle and it doesn’t create a rich lather or foam (which I didn’t like coz after using it, I don’t feel clean, I wear bb creams, that’s why I need a facial foam to completely remove remnants of the BB cream, you know what I mean? hihihi). Although the cream cleanser one works gently and is recommended for very sensitive skin (like mine) , I switched to the foam cleanser because I wanted to try it and then viola! I loved it!

I love the effect on this facial wash on my skin because unlike other facial washes that makes your skin dry after using it, this one leaves a moisturizing thin film on the facial skin (like dove soaps do) So, it is super recommended for dry and sensitive skin. And I super love it because it creates a THICK LATHER with just a tiny pea of it.

Btw, I bought this here in the Philippines coz when I was in Korea, I searched for this in tony moly stores/counters but they don’t sell it anymore so I was really sad about that and hoped that we still have it in the Phil and we still have it in Tony Moly counters here…and I am soooo happy! ~

COST: 178 php around 4,800₩

TEXTURE: thick gel. color: white with a tiny dash of gray (grayish white?)

SCENT: (quite strong) fresh dewy scent

DESCRIPTION: The brilliant cleansing care system bring strong vital power of fresh 3 seeds (which was not mentioned in its packaging) with dewy water.

HOW TO USE: When washing your face, work into a lather, and gently massage onto the face. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

So here goes my verdict:

PROS:
- very moisturizing (I love the moisturizing feeling that it leaves even after patting my face with a towel/paper towel.
- creates a thick lather
- 1 bottle of is good for 3-4 months (I use it twice daily :)
- didn’t give me breakouts

CON:
- once your face gets used to this and when you switch to other facial wash ( like even the gentle ones like cetaphil, celeteque or neutrogena) skin gets dry. There was a time when I ran out of this and tried to use celeteque for 3 days, my eyelids started to flake off :( (I DON’T REALLY KNOW IF THAT’S A CON OR A PRO ㅋㅋㅋ)

[REVIEW] MISSHA ALL-AROUND SAFE BLOCK PRESSED SUN CREAM SPF 50+/ PA +++

The product (compact type, sorry I lost the packaging ;p)
bottom/ back part with description

The compact when opened. It comes with a powder applicator/puff

[Product Review] Missha All-Around Safe Block Pressed Sun Cream SPF 50+/ PA+++

Howdi guys? here's another product review on Missha's Safe Block Pressed Sun Cream :)

I learned about this product when my aunt, who also visited Korea last fall, asked me to buy her another one because her compact is almost consumed and she told me how much she liked the product so I bought her one and decided to also purchase one for myself because I want to try it out hihihihi. So I've been using this product for almost two weeks now (but not on a daily basis, because I'm still hooked with my ELF face powder). I just use this when I feel like I'll be exposed to the sun more because this product has higher SPF compared to the oner one I'm using.

COST: 19,800₩ (around 734 php.) but I got it for 17,820 ₩ (around 660 php.) because they give a 10% discount for foreigners ;) You just have to present your passport (that's another tip when you shop for makeups around Myeongdong area). For 660, it's still quite expensive though and I just realized it today hahaha moving on...

VOLUME: 12g.

DESCRIPTION:
1) The pact containins UV blocking ingredients and nutritious ingredients like MISSHA sun cream, it enables you to protect the skin from UV rays more conveniently.

2) The pact protectsthe skin from outer harmful environment (e.g. against UV rays). The pact als contains Antozone Rose extracted from Dahurian Rose, it protects the skin from outer harmful environment like fine dust and ozone.

3) It also contains patent ingredient, Hollyhock extract(Patent no. 10-0887294), aloe extract and cucumber extract, they revitalize and protect fatigued skin against UV rays.

HOW TO APPLY:
After applying foundation or BB cream, pat lightly over the face with encased puff/ (kabuki brush)

TEXTURE: Fine and soft to touch, it is lightweight and is best used with a powder brush (I don't use the puff inside because I feel that the powder brush (kabuki brush I'm currently using) picks up more powder than the puff and using the brush will allow consistency and an even finish on the (facial skin).

SCENT: It doesn't smell good, but it doesn't smell bad either. It has a faint sun block smell (maybe because of its SPF content)

PROS:
- It is super lightweight
-easy to blend
- it has a sheer finish
- it has high SPF
- I like the compact :> it's like a clam :)))

CONS:
- The free puff doesn't pick much color so you better use a kabuki brush instead
- The smell :)
- Not that long lasting. You have to reapply every after 4 hours based on my experience hehe

I'll try to post SWATCHES soon.
Bye Bye for now!!! :) <3

P.S If you live in South Korea and you think you like this product, go to MISSHA stores now because they are having a 1+1 (buy 1 take 1) promo on this product!! visit their site for more info. www.missha.net :)
